Mohamed Muse Abukar

My name is Mohamed Muse Abukar, and I am a Senior Advisor at the Somali Academy of Science, Culture and Arts (SOMASCA). I have dedicated my professional career to contributing to the advancement of Somalia through knowledge, research, culture, and institutional development. In my role at SOMASCA, I provide strategic advice and support initiatives that promote scientific research, education, cultural preservation, and the development of Somalia’s intellectual and institutional capacity. My experience has strengthened my understanding of the importance of evidence-based decision-making, collaboration, and investing in knowledge for sustainable national development. I am applying because I see this opportunity as a valuable platform to further develop my professional skills, exchange knowledge and experiences with others, and contribute meaningfully to discussions and initiatives that can have a positive impact on Somalia and the wider region. I am particularly interested in learning from diverse perspectives, building lasting professional networks, and bringing the knowledge and experience gained through this opportunity back to my work and community. I believe my background in science, culture, policy advice, and institutional development, combined with my commitment to Somalia’s progress, would allow me to make a meaningful contribution to the program while also benefiting greatly from the experience.
